Missing Time Exhibition
Artist Statement
‘Missing Time’ is the title of my exhibition that encompasses a time theme that explores the way that time, used in its varying ways, can define the lives of people and how they see the world.
The use of previous work and the inclusion of recent work will create a final body of work that will portray the depiction of a time that is missing or has been missed.
It will be used as a discovery of a lost period of my life, a journey of reflection of my adolescence, growing up without the natural guidance of my father.
In this series of photographs, I will produce an abstract body of images using low key exposure predominately processed in black and white or low saturation colours as I embark on a discovery of missing years of my life and what that empty time means to me.
This exhibition aims to draw viewers to a somewhat meditative state present in the here and now, to evoke their own meaning and interpretation of the memory of time, of life’s empty times and the time of loss and grief in their own world.
